Frequently Asked Questions

Where is your office located?

My offices are located at:

5 Centerpointe Drive,
Suite 400
Lake Oswego, OR 97035

701 NE 136th Avenue,
Suite 200
Vancouver, WA 98684

How do we get started?

Prior to beginning services, I offer a telephone consultation at no charge so that we can discuss your reason for seeking counseling and determine whether I will be a good match for your therapeutic needs.

After our consultation, if we schedule an appointment, I will send you an email to my HIPAA compliant practice software, Simple Practice, where you can sign and complete the intake paperwork before we meet.

What will we do in the first session?

Our first session will be spent evaluating your needs, history, and goals for treatment. I will discuss my recommendations with you, and together we will determine a plan for treatment.

How long is a typical session?

Individual and couple sessions are 60 minutes.
Group sessions are 90 minutes.

What do you charge for therapy?

60-minute session $185
90-minute group session $ 45
Assessments $225

I feel strongly that everyone deserves access to affordable care, and offer a few sliding scale spots. I offer a time of discount option if you are paying cash for the session, please ask about this option.

If you do not have insurance coverage or out-of-network coverage is inadequate, please let me know, and we can discuss options for services.

Please be aware that I cannot waive co-pays or deductibles, but I am willing to work with you on a fee that fits your budget or refer you to lower cost resources.

Do you take insurance?

I am a network provider for the following insurance companies:

  • Aetna
  • Trillium/OHP
  • Pacific Source Health Plans
  • Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon
  • Providence
  • Moda Health
  • United Behavioral Health
  • Optum

You are responsible for communicating with your insurance company to determine your coverage. Some questions you may want to ask your insurance company are:

  • Do I have coverage for outpatient mental health treatment?
  • Does my health plan cover out-of-network providers?
  • Is pre-authorization required?
  • Have I met my deductible?
  • Is there a maximum number of therapy sessions allowed under my current coverage?

If I am not in-network with your insurance company, my services may still be covered. I can provide you with a super bill to submit to your insurance company, and full payment is due at the time of service.

Some people prefer not to involve their insurance company for counseling and pay for services directly. I am glad to discuss any questions you may have about insurance or self-pay options for counseling.

What do sessions look like?

During our initial sessions, we will work to identify what issues will be important to address during our work together. I view counseling as a collaborative journey in which we will work side by side in an open and honest environment. My goal is to nurture and encourage flexibility as new themes emerge and redirect our focus if it is appropriate and necessary.

How can I reach you?

You can reach me at (971) 226-8427 or email at [email protected]. I will respond within 48 hours. If for some reason you do not hear from me, I might not have received your request, and I encourage you to send me another message.

I look forward to starting this journey with you!!
